Satellite imagery can help estimate roof dimensions, surface area, pitch, and geometry when data is available. It cannot confirm leaks, concealed damage, fastening, underlayment, or every field condition. GenRoof uses satellite data to improve quoting and preparation, then relies on the onsite inspection for condition observations.
What satellite data may provide.

- Estimated surface area and footprint

- Image date or quality indicators when supplied by the provider
What it cannot establish.
- Whether a ceiling stain is actively leaking
- The condition of concealed underlayment or decking
- Fastening, attachment, or hidden installation details
- Every crack, lifted edge, puncture, sealant condition, or drainage issue
- Code compliance, engineering adequacy, or insurer acceptance
Why a property may need manual review.
Trees, shadows, old imagery, additions, multiple structures, unusual geometry, and provider coverage can limit the estimate. If the data is not good enough, the property should be reviewed before a price is accepted.
How GenRoof uses the estimate.
The estimate helps select a preliminary price tier and prepare the field visit. It is not presented as the inspection itself. The onsite professional confirms the property, access, visible conditions, and any measurement needed within the booked scope.
